I like cheese, good cheese anyway, and I'd chase it down a hill, but not up. Do you get a glass of wine and a cracker if you win? Yep. Cheese-rolling is a pastime, not a sport.

I saw something on the news about this once. That's probably where a lot of Americans got the idea from. That's interesting. I never even heard of people chasing cheese down a hill until now...whoa.

so why do yanks always come to england! mostly to work and to find some english bird to hang with to pass time .so yanks do think about england all time!

It's an old english custom dating back to 1765 and is only done in glouster (of docter foster fame). Personaly i think it's a bit silly but it seems to amuse the locals nowadys it's just an exuse to get very pissed and roll your self down the hill. ermm, im english..and ermm .we dont chase cheese down hill..hahah..maybe we eat it.but not chase it lol..stupid question..and i must be stupid to reply to it lol

Well I live in England and unfortuantely I can confirm that we do chase cheeses down hills. I liove not far from the place where they do it actually. It happens once a year in a town in Shropshire, I think. so u live in england near the place were it happens but you dont know exactly were. me thinks you are not english |
