many people that i know spend months in the US to escape the Canadain winter, one day i plan to as well, to bad i cant afford to buy now as houses are crazy cheap, a friend of mine bought a house in Vegas for $150k Canadian, a house like that here would be $600K

^^ABC, it's even gone lower. An acquaintance bought a three bedroom two story house here for $0,000 and his monthly mortgage is $400.00. I am sure it was not the most upscale neighborhood. But if he was not afraid to live there after scouting the area, can it be that bad?

I've lived the RV life for a while, and there are a lot of places that canadian snowbirds (retirees) congregate.

of course if you owned a home, you're kinda stuck in one place.

and maintainence on your home would get up there too. so many vacancies and so many breakins. what neighborhood did you buy in?

cool, i was shocked at the scale of the housing crisis there, im sure it will happen here as well as soon as interest rates go up

The sub-prime mortgage crisis are what killed off housing in the States. Don't expect the same here, even once interest rates increase.
