Ok, here is the scenario: I started up a facebook account. I have a VERY large family, and they start contacting me, and vice-versa. All I do is I ask relative C about the whereabouts of relative M and to say hi to him/her for me. We were having a pleasant convo until that moment. The chat box goes dormant. Next thing I notice, relative C has "dropped" me as a friend... has anything like this ever happened to you? It doesn't even have to have happened on the internet.

Yes, some members of my family are every bit as anti-social.
No, that's never happened to me.
I hate Facebook and don't use it.

A "friend" on fb is a strange thing that is entirely in the eye of the beholder. I know some people on FB who are very close friends irl but will not friend each other on fb for whatever reason, others I know friend people they've barely even met. It's best not to take things like that personally.

My sister unfriended one of her FB friends for making fun of the Pittsburg Steelers. Haha...
Then she unfriended me when I asked her why she had my 1st ex-husband as a friend on FB.

^Yes, "whatever?" describes my sentiment in this affair exactly. I wasn't privy to the argument (or it's source) between these two. As it has been said, "save the drama for your mama." ha ha

I had to block a relative on my FB page... She would comment on everything I posted... I would have message after message from her telling what I should an SHOULD NOT post.

The thing is, I meet her only once years ago at a funeral ...And she was only just a kid then.

As I once posted...

And I didn't even have her as friend... So I used the 'Block' function.

Voted : I hate Facebook and don't use it.
I hate Facebook: it's a terrible waste of time, and it fails, miserably, to protect the privacy if its users. I was on it for about 2 years, then I quit and have never returned. I swore if any idiot "poked" me to play Farmville again, I would fly to where they were and take a baseball bat to their pumpkin head.

All you had to do was take the small step to block requests by that game or app... and you would never get them again.

Yeah, I didn't have time to bother with that. Plus, the main thing that bothered me was how utterly useless it was and how much people obsessed over it needlessly. Now, I just let them think I'm a Luddite because I have no interest in it.
