my concern is that people will react to the question based on their perceptions and based on the fact that the radical element is getting all the press. islam, judaism and christianity are directly related, so obviously, we owe the islamic faith our respect, even if we don't agree with its philosophies and teachings. You're going to get flamed for this, get ready for it. I once saw a program about how Mohamid was a great facilitator... .. There was a tent that the local arabs trrabed in and around and the leaders gathered aroung a sacred stone, this tent somehow got burnt and the leaders argued about who would take the stone to a newer tent.. one had the most fighting men .. one had the most people ... one was richer than the others ... There was nearly a mini war about it and someone called in Mohamid ... He laughed and said put it on a blanket and we will all hold a corner ... There are some deeply profound teachings about how to get along from these supposedly illeterate 'ragheads' and I rather liked the story. Me myself repects Islam.The Muslims invented algebra they made great advancements in medicine,literature,Scince,math.One famous muslim Al-Razi,made a medicine book.It was used for hundreds of years!when Crusaders arrived they eventually saw Muslims using a telescope!!Muslims introduced the telescope.It was also Islam that brought europe out of the dark ages. I don't support war by any means but have any supporters of muslims ever read the coran? the Islam clearly says that Muslims should basically control the world no matter what you have to do, there are no extremists muslims cause their religion is extreme and extremely intolerant of all others (us) it's not us the intolerant it's them can't anyone see that?Look at what they are doing in France! when France was against the war and takes good care of their muslims... they bit the hand! I am very sorry but i can't stand the thought of women (and other than straight men) be treated like less than crap even if some like it, one that doesn't is enough to make me feel dissapointed on them as human. My mother supported all my family including my father all the time if it wasn't for her i would b nothing. ^I can tell that you've read it just by the way that you spell Koran or Qur'an. Customer says, "White" Counter guy asks, "Christian or Muslim?" Customer says, "What the hell does religion have to do with it?" Counter guy says, "The Muslim one blows itself up hello everybody i am a muslim girl from egypt , and i just wanted to tell you that islam is the religion of peace and tolerance ,it gives everybody the oppertunity to be a better person , it is really an amazing religion , and Prophet Muhamed was really a perfect man , Islam is not a religion of terrorism at all , you know what , there is no Racism in islam , woow you cant imagine how wonderful this religion is , you know we muslim respect all religions and , and belive in all prophets , we belive in jesus , moses , noah , ibraham , adam ,.., we believe in all of them because thats what prophet mohamed taught us to believe and do , now let me tell you a little about prophet muhammed , "Muhammed" is a perfect human being , he was a faithful friend. He loved his companions. He extended greetings to those he knew and to those he did not know. He treated all people around him with kindness and affection. He treated equally the humble and the lofty. and also he was great in the way he believed in the freedom of opinion , in the battel of "Badr" he changed the location of the battelfield due to the advice of a soldier !! .. how wonderful !!! and also there is too many mericals in the Holy Q'uran , the western science had been proving things which were written in our holly quran from 1400 years ago ....... i am really facienated by the beauty of this religion ... any way before i go i will have to say bye , but this time i am going to say it in the arabic language , In the islamic way : "Alsalamo A'likom wa rahmato ALLA wa barakatooh" which means : "peace and mercy of god be upon you" Voted : How could Islam be wrong? I'm not saying that I agree with Islam because there is alot that I don't agree with about them because how they go about their religion but who am I to judge :) it is good ISLAM IS AN EVIL CULT, A RELIGION OF HATE AND VIOLENCE, IT IS THE ROOT OF TERRORISM. Sura 2:190-194 "Fight in the cause of God those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for God loveth not transgressors. And SLAY THEM WHEREVER YE CATCH THEM, and turn them out from where they have turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; But fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they first fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith..." Sura 8:12-15 "Remember thy Lord inspired the angels with the message: I am with you: give firmness to the believers. I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers. Smite (smite = cut) ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them. never turn your backs to them. If any do turn his back to them on such a day - unless it be in a stratagem of war, or to retreat to a troop of his own - he draws on himself the wrath of God, and his abode is hell, - an evil refuge indeed! It is not ye who slew them; it was God..." Sura 8:39 "And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in God altogether and everywhere. But if they cease, verily God doth see all that they do..." Sura 8:57-61 (Summary: If you defeat them, treat the treacherous with treachery then terrorize them. God will repay what you spend. If they ask for peace give them peace.) "If ye gain the mastery over them in war, disperse, with them, those who follow them, that they may remember. If thou fearest treachery from any group, throw back (their covenant) to them, (so as to be) on equal terms. For God loveth not the treacherous. Let not the unbelievers think that they can get the better (of the godly). They will never frustrate (them). Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies of God and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom God doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of God shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly. But if the enemy incline towards peace, do thou (also) incline towards peace, and trust in God." Sura 47:4-6 "Therefore, when ye meet the unbelievers (in fight), smite (or 'cut') them at their necks. At length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them). Thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom until the war lays down its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded), but if it had been God's will, he could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself). But (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the way of God, He will never let their deeds be lost. Soon will He guide them and improve their condition, and admit them to the Garden (or 'Paradise')..." It may be that God will restrain the fury of the unbelievers, for God is the strongest in might and punishment ... Why should ye be divided into two parties about the hypocrites? God hath upset them for their (evil) deeds ... But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of God (from what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, SEIZE THEM AND SLAY THEM WHEREVER YE FIND THEM." Sura 4:95,96 (Summary: God gives a higher grade and reward to those who strive and fight in God's cause.) "Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of God with their goods and their persons. God hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in faith) hath God promised good, but those who strive and fight hath he distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward - ranks specially bestowed by Him and forgiveness and mercy.

Islam is a heavenly religion,as christianity and jewish but it is impossible to summarize it.The proplem is not in islam it is in those who believe they knew it better and act accordingly while actually they are wrong.Back in history the best treatment the christians and jweish ever recieved was with muslims.They were not opressed.Allag(God) said in Qur'an(do you want to know who are the loosers??They are those who are not doing well and think they do.They will be in Hell. Please respect Islam as it respects other religions and don't let the political media war affect your judgments.This (war against terrorism) is all a big lie and soon you will discover that they are the real reason why terror is exagerated. to stranger7800: those verses in the suras are the art of WAR... even if your read sun tzu's art of war, or any other book about the art of war, you should know that in a WAR it is FUNDAMENTAL that you dont show your enemy that you are weak... and that means no compassion, revenge, mercy if you are under attack. because naturally if you showed that you are thinking about what the enemy is doing and "feeling" each attack, one after the other, then you are weaker emotionally than the other side, which will give the other side an emotional boost, hence affect the outcome of WAR. WAR is a different mentality and aspect to PEACE. PEACE is preferred to WAR but if WAR is begun (by ANOTHER NATION STARTING THE WAR) then it is your right to defend yourself.. isnt it? you cant just give up what you stand for and your identity.. but if the other nation believes that your nation has governmental problems and harboring extremists and terrorists what can you do lol .. that is the muslim downfall - not sorting out their own problems... also, there are strict rules in war... and surpassing these rules also brings strict punishment - hence the introduction of court marshalls - originating from islam! if you rape/steal/destroy/hurt civilians/ or do anything out of line/ not follow orders (mind you its permitted not to follow orders if it contradicts the other rules) - then you WILL suffer the consequences of YOUR actions. most of its belivers are thick Voted : Islam is a temporary phenomenon which must be phased out Islam is merely the invention of one man, the Mohammed character, who evidentally was a fairly good writer and succeeded at passing himself off as yet another 'genuine' 'prophet'. People believe because they don't know any better. It's all they know, they've been taken in, they are the victims of an ancient, even primitive, and barbaric set of beliefs, thanks to this Mohammed person. It really is not necessary to bow down to the ground, or cover up all the women, or chop off hands or heads, or attack other countries or people, or to act like angry mobs or kill yourself to win 72 phantom virgins..! Somebody Is brainwashed, Mohammed has been a great success.. This will be reversed, one hopes, in the foreseeable future..?
