I have heard of spiral, elliptical, and barred elliptical ... irregular sounds like a good miscellaneous category, so I'll go with 'elongated' as the red herring.
well technically, it's "barred spiral", so there's 2 :)

Oooh -- a toughie...
And that was purely a guess.
I admit, I cheated. I looked it up in my Junior Saucer Cadet Handbook.
I must correct you Cathexis, there are no categories for 'elongated red herring' shaped galaxies so far.
i dont get it i mean there are four different types of galaxies but what is your question?????
