the oldest pine tree in the world is called Methuselah Tree. If the Bible is to believed (sic) ten he is still knocking around now... I shall tune into the Parliament channel and look for him in the House of Lords or as a High Court judge.

I met him once. Great snooker player. Shows why I left the Church all those centuries ago. Bob Hooper, surely. Most bible experts miss poor ol' Bob.

"A straight forward question..... isn't it?" The wording through me off a bit. I intepreted oldest as earliest person so it would be Adam. "Man of oldest age in the Bible" is better. Sorry I'm being picky. Enoch, eh? Because "he never died?" Qualification: Enoch walked with God and was not. Does this "not" mean that he is alive? Not. Anyhow, as long as we are walking down this particular path, Jesus never died; Moses never died; etc, etc. ad naseum. Are you bored, Steel? #:>)

Hey steel I see why you would say that but look at it a little closer. It says he was not for God took him. It is saying that he left this earthly realm in a way that others have not the only other one to leave in this fashion was Elijah If you really want to get technical since no one really goes into non-existence when they die. So it would be Adam that is the oldest man alive Every body is an eternal being once they are born to this earth it is just where we will spend our eternity that is the Question God took him, but he loved him so did not allow him to die, the others mentioned died in some manner or other. What makes you believe I'm bored Griff? Is my yawning a give away?

^If he did not leave this fleshly existence then where is he? Hey take a look and the simple literal meaning of death if means to separate or to be separated so he was separated from this earth and he was separated from his flesh we can see that in the words and he was not. Same with Elijah he was taken up in a chariot and was no more. If you look at the fact only spiritual beings or at least non corporeal being can live in heaven how do you explain that so if he is not in the flesh then he has died just not in the fashion that you and I will. Actually you can also use Christ as the example as a resurrection to explain how Enoch and Elijah were taken up in a resurrection It is also said it is pointed unto man once to die and after that the judgment so to say he did not die then that would nullify that scripture so there is another explanation than to say that I is still alive. When ever I look at the word of God I have to look at the whole picture and not just one scripture there is even a verse that teaches that we are not to take one verse and make it stand alone so it takes more than one verse to make it hold water. Just some thoughts for you to think about Voted : Methuselah just a guess

Voted : Enoch Enoch I believe he was 400 yrs old. ^Enoch was 365-years-old when God supposedly took him. But he was not the only human to be taken by God. He shares this distinction of being taken by God with only one other Bible figure, Elijah. But both Enoch and Elijah did not die from sickness, injury or natural causes. However, their natural human and mortal lives on earth did come to and end. Voted : Methuselah Historical and religious texts all state that Methuselah, Noah's grandfather, had the longest life span of any hu-man mentioned in the Bible, living to be 969-years-old. Voted : Methuselah wats the answer thats a good answer, what is it? I wouldn't know. This is one ballot in which I probably would vote for John McCain.

Enoch was taken to Heaven, which is a euphemism for dying. So he hardly counts.
