To me, they're a piece of Americana; I love'em. No, I'm no expert on the mechanics of the beast, & I am not a hobbyist, either. You wouldn't find any model railroads in my abode. But, I love to hear them in the distance... and I do live in a historic building that once belonged to the Railroad company. The closest track runs within a quarter mile of my home. Some people say the sound would drive them nuts; but not me. It has a certain music to my ears, that of motion, of purpose, and yes, a bit of loneliness mingled in, too. So what about you? Are you a fan of Freight Trains? Would you want to live in a Railroad Town?
