Some people got it in their heads that soccer is a sport for girly-men. I played little-league soccer. You run for miles for 90 minutes total (in adult soccer, not little-league) on a big field with few stoppages in play, wear no protective gear (compare American football), tackle with your legs, and knock the ball around with your head.

I think the sport gets a bad rap in the US. Now you wanna talk about a sport for wimps - try golf. :P
