The Human Rights Commission has urged Afghan President Karzai to make a commitment to bring Afghan war criminals to justice, after a long period of abuses.

However, this request goes against Karai's current policy, as well as that of the US regarding Afghan war criminal accusations, in that most of these alleged "war criminals" are Afghan warlords who either have helped (or are helping) the new Afghan government or could be a threat to continued Afghan stability.
