It's a fact that, should we live full and healthy lives, all of us are going to reach the age of senior citizens at some point.

This includes politicians, businessmen, everyone. So why is it that our government seems to stall so often on better rights, medical care, etc, for those older members of our society?

Doesn't it seem like they are actually harming themselves in the long run, I mean, at some point they will be senior citizens themselves, obviously.
