i would imagine it would depend on what you do afterwards, if you have done something without realizing. Are we talking intention here, Robin? If a person intends to commit a racist act and accomplishes it, he/she is a racist. Without intention, there is no racism.

OH, I see, yeah I guess if you did something without realizing oh_what_a_relief- Once a Vietnamese guy implied that I should be held responsible for the atrocities committed by white Americans against minorities in the past. That is a racist statement but I wouldn’t necessarily accuse the guy of being a racist. What do you think?

I probably wouldn't think of him being racist because of that comment either. ^ No, and neither would I. Robin I'd consider Him honest. If he said you were lazy because you were white he would be a racist. but not in your example he isnt. He is making a legitimate point. Just because it offends you doesnt make it racist. "No, and neither would I. Robin I'd consider Him honest. If he said you were lazy because you were white he would be a racist. but not in your example he isnt. He is making a legitimate point. Just because it offends you doesnt make it racist." Oh, marvelous, does that mean we can hold you personally responsible for all of the atrocities committed in the name of the Kingdom of England, the United Kingdom, and the British Empire? That certainly covers much more ground geographically and many millions more people! Why don't we just have you start sending payments to the Chinese government for the Opium Wars? We'll only seize 80% of your monthly dole check. ^^ HAHAHAHAHAHA! Sure, as long as they're not white.

What the hell are you guys talking about? Insisting that someone should inherit the guilt of someone else just because he is the same race as the other person IS racist. That is the mentality that has caused so many people to feel entitled to be racist in the first place. “I hate blacks/whites/Asians because a few of them used to beat me up in elementary school. Now they all should have to take the blame.” That mentality is dangerous and the fact that you guys support a double standard against white people is appalling. Back to my point, I didn’t consider the guy a racist since he only had this one limited racist view and it only was part of his political philosophy. I don’t know him well enough to say whether he is racist in his social life but I could easily see that he might not be, so I wanted to put the question in the public forum to see what you guys think.
