The first eight nations listed are the final eight from the 2002 World Cup. Germany is hosting it in 2006, so I pick them even if they don't necessarily have the "best" team. Home field advantage means a hell of a lot in the World Cup. Add your favorite.

I still pick Germany to win it in '06. Even if Brazil or Italy or any other country has a "better" team, it's tough to overcome the home field advantage for a top contender like Germany. If it were being played in Italy, I'd pick Italy. The same goes for Brazil and a couple of other top teams.

Germany have a shite team. Home advantage won't mean much because when the English come to town we're gonna take over and I can bet that there won't be any opposition.
