Voted : China I hate to say it, but probably China. 100 years ago, the dominant empire on the earth was the British Empire, which controlled almost a quarter of the world's people. Now look. Not China or India. Not sure which country it will be, but not them. They are overly-burdened with massive over-population and a non-existent infastructure. Even if they were to attain a level of success as Western nations, it would still mean that China would leave about 800 million of it's people in poverty. Same for India. So they may in fact grow in economic clout and perhaps political, diplomatic and military, but given the massive demands they face at home, they can't have it all. So if they pursue a major global role, it will be at the expense of the vast majority of their people. And well all can predict what happens when hundreds upon hundreds of millions of people are left poor while only a very small minority become rich. Voted : Isreal In the age of globalization, only a financial mastermind will prevail.

I don't know, but it won't be the UK know matter how bad some of its citizens would like to see it become what it use to be. Voted : China China Absolutely! In 100 years the whole global economy with revolve around what China does. Chinese will become a 2nd language for most of the world. Because of it's enoumous economic power, it will start dictating policies to all other countries. Mindy you have a real problem with the UK dont you?? haha never mind though. Well with the US having to make record repossessions of homes and the fact they are in debt crisis..and the money fading away more rapidly than ever before ..according to all these things on tv....here and abroad...i'd sday China. Its frightening to say it but China are the biggest consumers of 4 of the 5 biggest Ecenomic Must haves. Metals etc etc technology..the only thing the US exceeds them in now is Oil consumption . but China are offernig more and more money with a rapidly growing and powerful Economy that can afford to do so. Their military has gone from Antiquated Russian kit to the lates hi tech bull pup assault rifles, dassault and Saab Aircraft, tanks and other such kit in what seems like overnight. With an army of over a billion without a draft being neccesary, this puts them frighteningly ..in a ver very powerful position. I'd say 100 years is too far off. Im thinking more like the next 10 years.

Its fact. Each Superpower gives way to another from the UK who ruled and owned OVER 2 THIRDS FO THE EARTH...to America at present. I see alot have put America still at the top on this vote. But the fact is it DEFFINATELY wont be the USA no matter how bad its citizens would like to see it, as Mindy put it of the UK. Of course it wont be the UK either as she rightly pointed out.

^I don't have a problem with the UK, just a couple of Brits who use to frequent this site. My comment was aimed at them. It doesn't matter to me who is the most powerful in 100 years since I"ll be dead. I just hope we don't become a shithole. A large chunk of my ancestors came from your country including some who served in the British military. So in a way it would almost be like hating myself, if you get my drift. yeah totally get your pint Mindy. I used to hack on at some of the arrogant US memebers till i learned to just chill. I get what your saying though it'd be folly.

Voted : Britain Slightly biased here again, cos im from here. If we did it once, we can do it again. USA, with all their power stab into the darknesss, whilst most other countries are too currupt to gain any power, or have too much population to sustain a better standard of living. Mind you, we have out fair share of corruption over here, with MP's claiming tax-payers money.... If we get the Tories in, and they dont screw up we'll be awesome again :D The top voted ones on that list are obvious, clearly, blatantly being spammed by idiots. The USA is bankrupt, with failing infrastructure, failing education system, a lack of engineers and technicians being trained, and has managed to alienate most of the world. No way is it going to survive even the next couple of decades; it's going to be as dead as the USSR. China only looks good on paper, but is totally dependent on exports. They have almost no infrastructure to maintain their growth without exports, The common people - the vast majority - are being pushed aside, and ripped off by the tiny elite. The national government (in Beijing) is being ignored in Shanghai (where the money is), and the military is doing their own thing down in the south where the fellow in charge of the navy as all the power. In the west of the of country, the locals are finally getting angry enough to fight back against the Chinese settlers being forced down their throats. It's a country going headlong towards all the triggers for a civil war. The government knows it. I have friends in China and they tell me of the factories getting higher walls, more security, and the owners told to make deals with the local army because everyone knows the trouble is coming. Israel hasn't a hope of survival because their crazy insane mass-murdering leaders and incompetent military have managed to ruin their nation's credibility, made everyone in the Middle East hate them, including their own former friends. Israel is also completely dependent on the USA to keep going; not even having nukes will save them because they don't dare use them and would be turned into a land of green shiny radioactive glass by Russia and China if they tried anything. You can see they know it too, which is why they try to get the USA to do their dirty work like calling for attacks on Iran with lies about Iranian nuclear weapons programs that don't exist. India is already divided by sectarian violence, and the Indian states are acting increasingly like separate nations ignoring the central government. Too many people are getting suspicious of the ruling party being behind the Moombai attack because it came out in public that other "terrorist" bombings were done with the same party's collusion. India also has the same sort of problems as China.
