When I was a child I went to a space museum and there were older tourists there speaking German. Only years later did I discover that NASA was built by the Nazi rocket scientists that Americans captured after WWII. I guess it should have occurred to me that the Germans were my grandfather's age and would have been adults in Germany during the Nazi era.
