NO CAKE FOR LITTLE ADOLPH HITLER

[+] serious ballot by UncleRandy
ACTIVE Wed Dec 17, 08 - Mon Sep 12, 11

Everybody and their brother has been posting this story, so I'm joining the crowd...

Cake request for 3-year-old Hitler namesake denied.

The father of 3-year-old Adolf Hitler Campbell, denied a birthday cake with the child's full name on it by one New Jersey supermarket, is asking for a little tolerance. Heath Campbell and his wife, Deborah, are upset not only with the decision made by the Greenwich ShopRite, but with an outpouring of angry Internet postings in response to a local newspaper article over the weekend on their flare-up over frosting...

"There's a new president and he says it's time for a change; well, then it's time for a change," the 35-year-old continued. "They need to accept a name. A name's a name. The kid isn't going to grow up and do what (Hitler) did."

Deborah Campbell, 25, said she phoned in her order last week to the ShopRite. When she told the bakery department she wanted her son's name spelled out, she was told to talk to a supervisor, who denied the request.

Karen Meleta, a spokeswoman for ShopRite, said the Campbells had similar requests denied at the same store the last two years and said Heath Campbell previously had asked for a swastika to be included in the decoration.

"We reserve the right not to print anything on the cake that we deem to be inappropriate," Meleta said. "We considered this inappropriate."

The Campbells ultimately got their cake decorated at a Wal-Mart.

So what's your take on this story?

What they did to their child is a form of child abuse, and the child should be taken away.
Poor kid will grow up and no nothing but hated to people.
There should be a law against this. (Naming a child like this).
What sane person would name their kid "Adolph Hitler"?
By not allowing parents to name children Adolph Hitler, Adolph Hitler wins.
I bet they didn't order a chocolate cake...
That poor kid. He shouldn't be punished for his ignorant parents.
The bakery hates freedom of speech

I agree. What sane parents would name their child that? I hope that child will legally change his name later - I think, the age is 18 when the son can do it. But in the mean time, it is sad for him. Maybe he can create a nickname like 'Joe' that his classmate can call him.

Note: The image shown here is not the actual cake. It's just a random Adolph Hitler birthday cake.

The Campbells' other two children also have unusual names: JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell turns 2 in a few months and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell will be 1 in April.

The ShopRite was right to refuse (it could hurt their business for one thing - bad publicity and very inappropriate). I feel really sorry for the poor kid though. He'll probably have a horrible life, and grow up to be an idiot just like his parents. It's not his fault he got stuck with two morons for parents though. I hope the kid manages to have a happy birthday anyway (and a half decent life when he finally grows up and moves away from his nutcase parental units). Happy birthday über alles to you, Happy birthday über alles to you, Happy birthday über alles poor little Adolph, Happy birthday über alles to you.

The bakery hates freedom of speech!

Seriously, it's their business, they can cater to who they want and I don't blame them.

I do feel sorry for the kid though.

Come on, what were the parents thinking? They should be arrested for stupidity (which is self-evident considering the names of their other children) for giving their child that name. Oh, wait, that might happen when they burn a cross in someones lawn. Or maybe it is the wearing of the white sheets on their head that has reduced oxygen to their brain. There's also nothing stopping the parents from writing that stupid name on the cake themselves. The store probably thought it was some hate group requesting the cake. Additionally, the story above notes the parents requested swastikas on the cake. So... Wal-mart did the cake... of course, always low prices on crap from China and other sweatshops. Anything for a buck.

Permission to Beelz-slap his parrents!

I know that it says in the Bible that the sins of the father shall be visited upon the sons, but there was nothing written about stupidity...

freedom of expression is one thing, but sacrificing one's child to it is another

I really do think his name could turn him into another 'dick-tater". I respect the bakery workers for having the presence of mind to even recognize hitler's name and the guts to refuse to do defile a cake (and a child) in such a way.

I don't think it was a wise choice to name the kid after one of the most despicable people in the history of the world and then wonder why they get the kind of feedback they get. What were they trying to prove ? You just don't do that to someone you love. If he liked that name he or they should have changed their name(s) and not ruin the kids life.
