You are programming a simple freeware RPG. The first quest for the player has to accomplish is to clear out several mini-bosses that have taken over a nearby cave. Which enemy species listed below will you add to the cave?

Ice Golem.
Humanoid figure made of blocks, cubes and chunks of ice. Attacks by punching with it's icy arms. Occasionally, breathes out damaging clouds of frigid air. Susceptible to fire-type magic and attacks.

Land Shark.
This enemy is just like a marine shark, except it swims through ground, mud or rock. Frequently surprises the player. It will attack with vicious bite(s) and retreat for a few minutes before attacking again.

Mystic Rock.
An animated rock bust. Very similar to the stone carvings on Easter Island. Attacks the player by spitting rocks, generating earthquakes and headbutting the player. When it runs out of HP, it will explode causing damage to the player.

Warlock Owl.
Anthropomorphic owl dressed in robes, cowl and carrying a lantern. Will attack with it's beak or talons but prefers to attack with lightning, sleep or wind magics.

Evil Reticulan.
Short, thin, gray skinned alien with large almond shaped eyes. Attacks with three strange alien devices: Flame tube (causes fire damage), Neural dazer (causes temporary paralysis) and Image distorter (generates illusionary images of alien).

Wooden Tiki.
An animated slightly creepy Tiki mask. Attacks by breathing fire or biting. It also will breathe out a sweet odor which causes many strange effects on player. When it's HP is less than half, it will constantly cast confusion magic each round.

Giant Ant.
Exactly the same as the ones you've seen in the garden, on streets etc. but much bigger. (About the size of a large dog.) Attacks only with mandibles. This monster has a 1 in 25 chance of leaving behind a ball of ant nectar. This super sweet item heals some of the player's HP.

Skeleaon.
The skeleton of a small dragon. Attacks with bony claws and tail. Blows out a dark cloud of poison every other round. (Obviously poisoning character if it hits). As an undead, it is weak against holy magics. Also, healing magics and items damage it, too.

Twisted Angel.
Beauteous evil human spirit with a pair of large, white feathery wings resting on a cloud. She can put the player to sleep by singing. Attacks with summoned lightning bolts or acid rain. May also heal herself with magic if her HPs get low.

Candy Man.
This is a humanoid figure made out of candies. Such as lollipops, chocolate, jawbreakers, licorice, marshmallows etc. Attacks by breaking candy off itself and throwing it at player. Damage and accuracy depend on which candy it uses.

Ice Golem.
Land Shark.
Mystic Rock.
Warlock Owl.
Evil Reticulan.
Wooden Tiki.
Giant Ant.
Skeleaon.
Twisted Angel.
Candy Man.

Think you'd be surprised, Grapost. I know tons of gamers in their 20's and 30's. When I played WoW, 3 of our guild members had just gotten back from Iraq and played to unwind. Around 1/3 of our guild in total were servicemen. 1/3 were college students. Maybe 1/6 were middle to high school range and the other 1/6 were 25-45 years old, most with jobs. Granted, there's always 1 or 2 of the stereotypical jobless basement dwellers.

The gaming community is pretty much a cross section of "normal" society.

I am not a loser. I am not immature. I have no problem with being a little nerdy.

My brother is not a loser. He is not immature. He is the least nerdy human being I know. He's very large. He's got a lot of tattoes. He's a bouncer and college student. There is zero chance you would guess that he's a gamer.

I won't even bother continuing this stupid debate. Either you have met 1 gamer that you disliked, you enjoy insulting people for no reason, or you simply don't know any beyond the fact that they play games occasionally. Such ignorance.

Nate, me and my sister were talking about this a while back. We were laughing at the fact that the "nerds" that everyone made fun of in highschool are now making 100,000+ a year programing computers and testing games.

So what if it seems a little childish. To each their own. If it makes them happy, more power to them.

Not to mention that we wouldn't be able to use the computers that we sit in front of without them.

Their like the guys who are grown up and still play with model trains and build huge miniature model train layouts in the basement.

Big men playing little kids games. Most grown men are instrested in playing with GIRLS, not video games. Gamers are social retards.
