Everyday children die during birth or worse yet they are born with AIDS or a variety of other lethal illnesses. If God intended to test these people as to their worthyness to enter heaven, why did he kill them in the process of birth? Why are some babies born addicted to crack? Why are some born retarded? How does God expect a retarded person to be as capible of tackling the temptaions of life as a mentally normal person? If God is sending these people to heaven no matter what, what makes them so much better than the rest of us? Shouldn't everyone in heaven be their by their own merit? What do you think? How can God exist when there is so much senseless injustice in the world?

He can't
I don't know
"God" is imagninary
It's in God's will
God gave man free will
philosophers have been asking this for centuries
God is a prick
free will
SORRY, THIS POLL
IS NOW CLOSED.

If anyone can unequivicably answer this, they have just made the philosophical question of Theodicy obsolete. Good luck.

Some people have no clue, do they?

Robin, chill out. All paths lead back to the source. You have some funny ideas about the nature of God. I recommend that you practice a spiritual discipline like meditation in order to be gain some sound knowledge about existence. It will enable you to stop guessing at God's nature and making yourself look like a fool. It's always the people that have never practised a spiritual discipline that think God is made up. What a surprise.

Another person with no clue, guessing at the nature of God. Get some fucking evidence by turning within. If you've never seen the sky, why try and tell us that it's green? Fucking morons.

I've gone to church most of my childhood. I've read the bible (something I that can't be said for most of the fundamentalists I've ran into.). I have heard every half-ass theory about God there is and I've found flaws in all of them. Most Agnostics I've met were raised by agnostic parents, but most atheists I’ve known have been raised in hardcore Christian households. Since I was brought up Christian I think it is my duty to point out its hypocrisy and inherent abuse on its subjects. If I didn't I'd be just as bad as all those fundamentalist fanatics that are tolerated by people of the same faith. In a time when people are killing in the name of God I think whether or not that God actually exists is something that is paramount to be held to scrutiny.

"proof of NO GOD"?

What is happening here? Proof? I totally agree with Robin Gaylord that God's existence should be scrutinised and that religion is hypocritical. If Robin Gaylord took the time to scrutinise his own consciousness with the only tool he has to objectively assess reality (his mind) then he might arrive at the inescapable conclusion that God actually does exist. And He exists outside of every religion. This is good news. Why shouldn't I tell people?

You can't question the ways of God. He is the all-knower.

We don't have this knoweledge and we don't need it.

Man's sins bring bad things upon himself.

Whether God forgives one person a sin, or lets the other recieve punishment, it is his will. He knows while we do not.

I can't believe this many people don't believe in God at all. I thought everybody in the country believed in God but this site has really proved me wrong.

Man has created his own hell on earth. Most of the injustice and "bad" things in the world are man made. GOD gave us free will and based on the shape of the world, we've really abused it.
by patch22us on Fri Oct 08, 04 4:10pm [+]

Who defines "senseless injustice"? We do. That such exists does NOT prove there is no god. Perhaps this is the way God wants it. To say that "God is a prick" is to express our own self-interest, not God's.
by Natural_Selection on Sat Jan 29, 05 1:33pm [+]

God gave us free will if he stopped people from committing acts of evil then he would be taking away our free will and wouldn’t that be more evil then letting the evil occur? And you can’t blame God about the evidential problem of evil, its nature and suffering is part of being alive. Also karma can explain it to.

oh god some of you christians are so naive!
it's nature and our fucked society!
it's ok to be religious-but not that naive!
This question is even not worth asking cause I think there is no god. only my opinion.
by guitars_love_life on Mon Aug 29, 05 3:58am [+]

don't trust god to be all mighty, trust only yourself to be better and a better contobuter to mankind.
Use religion to inspire you but don't think that someone up there will make all your wishes come true and is responsable for what is going out there...
