DO SOME NATIONS SEE WAR AS A FORM OF SPORT?

[+] serious ballot by Steelhamster
created Tue Sep 21, 04

Some of the posts I come across, suggest that war has become the latest 'sporting' event.

Should we now look forward to a 'world series' of war?

So, does blind patriotism in some, give us a world where war, is little more than a spectator sport?

yes well when you watch some sports it does seem like war, and not just the players, the fans aswell having rivalries with rival cities or countries.

That's right. They don't draft people between 18 and 34 to compete in the 100 metres.

I'm not sure if any *Nations* do, but alarmingly large numbers of people appear to.

oh geez, get real. it's the biggest game in town! I can't wait for las vegas to start offering up point spreads in the form of body counts. all this jingoistic hog-doody camouflaged as patriotism makes my ass twitch. o.k. todays quiz: who said "the only difference between civilization and chaos is three meals and twenty-four hours"?
