DO YOU LIVE IN A HAUNTED HOUSE?

[+] ballot by mysticalknight

I stayed over at my friends house over the weekend and they told me about the stuff that happens at night and they were right, the place is haunted and I didnt really get much sleep. I was fascinated and scared all at once which kept me awake to hear such things as doors opening and closing, the faucet running, footsteps in the hallway, and old music from around the 50's playing. We had to listen really hard to hear the music playing because it wasnt very loud, it was like a background noise that most people wouldnt hear. It was spooooookkkyyy. So my question is, do you live in a haunted house?

Yes
No
I hope not!
not that I'm aware of.

I guess a secondary question for this ballot could be did you stay at a house or any other place that's haunted?

I reckon I do. I remember about a month ago sitting in my home office, and feeling a chill like a cold gust of wind. There weren't any fans or other devices that move air on at the time, and the door was securely closed. I also felt a 'presence' as such accompanying all this.
Now, the toilet in the hall bathroom is acting up. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I've checked it over, and there is nothing wrong with it.
I don't mean to make a bad joke here, but maybe my resisdent spirit lives in the hall bathroom if not the toilet itself!
I could think of better places to haunt.

The house I used to live in was haunted. I had something walk infront of me one day in the hallway. Dont know what it was, it was just a blur. I had windows break in a way as if it was someone on the inside pushing on them. When my sister lived there, she had knocks on the door, child-size foot prints on the carpet, lost things would show up in places that had been previously searched, and pictures would be found laying on the floor with the nails that held them up laying neatly on top of them. One day she even saw a man standing in the door way. As soon as she called for her husband, the man vanished.

I flew on an airplane from Los Angeles to England in 1995. I had a window seat. We were at maximum altitude when I saw something that looked like an eagle pass right by my window. I asked a flight attendant to ask the pilot if he saw it. She returned and said the polit saw it, too, but he didn't know whatit was. Does this count as being haunted?

I used to live in a place that used to be an Opera house. It was called the Rhoads Opera House, I'm not sure who all is familiar with the story (The opera house in Boyertown, Pennsylvania, on the corner of Philadelphia Avenue and S. Washington Street) Well the place caught fire during a show one night and people were trapped inside because all the doors opened inward and not outward. (That is the reason why today all doors must open outward for fire safety) And since people were pushing their way to get out, they could not open the doors. Anyway, the place was rebuilt and at night (that's mostly when I would heard things) I would hear Opera music (To this day I can't listen to Opera without getting the chills) I would also hear footsteps, clapping. Only when I was in a deep sleep was I awaken by doors slamming and screaming. I got used to hearing those noises though. I lived there for three years.

Forgetmenot, I'd count that as being paranormal or extraterrestrial. Maybe it was an Angel flying by or a UFO?

Guest user, that sounds like a cool place you lived in. I have to admit, I'd be a bit disturbed by and freaked out by the opera music and every other noise, but as you said, you pretty much get used to those things after a while.

I believe there are spirits out there. I have stayed at a Haunted school house growing up. It is in VT. The locals said the school teacher was murdered in the early 1900's by a student and that she is still there. ( It doesnt hurt any that the school house was move across the street where a cemetary was, and the cemetary moved as well. ) There was always something scary there.

I live in a farmhouse built in 1860. Lights have gone on by themselves (wiring is updated); I can hear muffled conversations, old time music, the ringing of an older phone from the 40s or 50s, things disappear & reappear. Two young boys (brothers) who lived here died (drowning accident/fell through ice) in the 1930s within visual of the house. Not sure if it's them, I haven't researched yet.
