This question assumes that the Indians have some sort of special claim to be treated fairly. When has anyone ever been treated fairly. Everyone is oppressed. At least that is what the Deomcrats say.

Do you ever have an original thought? Or is your only purpose in life to bash people who disagree with you? what are you talking about bashing people. I don't play the politically correct game and you say that is bashing. Now I will bash. You seem to have left your intelligence somewhere not too near your keyboard. Read what I said. The only people I bash are the godless, communist Democrats. Do you think that they are some sort of special protected class of people who shouldn't be bashed. You don't seem to have any problem bashing people that you label conservative all sorts of nasty things. so give your crocidile tears a wipe and shut it.

Yes, but they don't treat each other fairly. Look at all the money the Idian Casinos make, yet NONE of it is spent on helping their own people. Where are the Indian hospitals, schools, retirement homes, day care centers, job programs, college tuition assistance programs, alcohol and drug rehab centers, etc. on the reservations? A small select group use the money for their own personal benefit. Plus most of the Indians are lazy and unambitious. They refuse to leave to reservation to better themselves and instead stay there and drink themselves to death. Most of their suffering is self inflicted. Not treated fairly at all. But i'm not going to argue it with anybody. Because it's simple. The govt. has legal obligations that it doesn't meet. If a tribe points out unfair treatment then according to some people they are expecting to get "special" treatment. But just picture how much hoopla these same people would raise if the govt. failed to meet it's legal obligation to provide them,say, social security. Picture the hoopla these same people would raise if some professor at some university decided to dig up thier grandparents graves with a bunch of pimply college students to "study" their corpses..all in the name of science though, so that makes it ok. Imagine the hoopla that these same people would raise if they found out nuclear waste was leaking into their water supply, or just onto their land in general. And as for Natives all being alcoholics, well blame that on the govt. too. Take the tribe near to where I live (not my tribe), the Yakamas. They decided to do something about that problem and ban alcohol on the their rez altogether. A right that is clearly stated in their treaty with the federal govt. (This was in response to the state of Washington fighting them in court when they wanted to impose a tax on all alcohol sold on their reservation in order to raise money for things such as rehab.) The state of Washington doesn't like it, and the federal govt won't enforce it, which, legally, they are supposed to do. So to all the people who say that Natives don't try to do anything about alcoholism, what more can you do then ban alcohol altogether? And what would you do if the federal govt decided to not enforce laws that it's supposed to enforce where you live? Make a fuss? Expect "special" treatment?

They have never been treated fairly. When were Native Americans ever treated fairly? It'd drive me to drink. Voted : Not treated fairly No we are not. We live our lives despite the we are treated. Thank you for showing you understand.
