btw I receive the mailings of AARp because my dad lived in the house I now live in before me. Nearly every copy of their "newsletters" I haver received for months now has had the subject of social security on it's cover & they keep repeating that W is trying to stop their checks, blatant lie. Ah, the old "But there are others who are *worse*" argument. Nice dodge when we know we're doing bad. As for Bushco ... if you're not with him, you're against him. We will coem to know just how serious this statement was --- probably the last time he actually told the Truth. Dictator George is just jealous because he doesn't belong to a respected, time-honored group. No dodge cathexis that sounds like what you guys are doing , terrible people in the world & boiling people or hacking off their heads does not compare to taking nudie pictures. You can't possible believe they are the same thing , besides in the case they are talking about it wasn't the government doing that the Bushco government is the one sending the guys (& girls) that did it to jail. That reminds me of the Peta members who don't believe in eating fish but have no problem with abortion. AS I have stated out here before strikes me as strange how non of the liberal groups spoke out against the murders in Waco or Ruby Ridge , or anything Clinton did why is it the same rules don't apply, that is not caring that is taking a shot at someone with whatever means you can. & look up the history Amnesty is very liberal , they don't even support the death penalty for the likes of Bundy (or I'll bet for the likes of Saddam). Because you know that all those Mensa folk are just pointy-headed liberals waiting to take over the American Way of Life. everygirl, as for those nasty claims Amnesty made about Gitmo, I ask you to look back through my comments. I said pretty much all that should have to be said about that yesterday.

Everygirl, I was outraged about Waco and Ruby Ridge at the time. However, those events happened ten plus years ago. This ballot is about an ongoing situation. I can see it being Red Cross for sure, they are also kind of a watchdog of human rights, aren't they? (sigh) Where to even begin ...? everygirl, I confess that I have not read the report. But I find it inconceivable that if there are, indeed, countries engaged in atrocities such as you mention, that they are not condemned in the report. Not being the worst does not mean the US is immune from censure. The problem with many conservatives is that no matter how bad the US is, they think the US should be immune from censure. A totally tribal mentality.
