Weed Smokers always claim it calms them and mellows them out. What is really does is "numb you." It numbs your brain and your nurological system. It's like a slight coma. It helps you ESCAPE reality. Suddenly you DON'T CARE about anything anymore and you become BURNT OUT. That's why heavy weed smokers are ALWAYS LOSERS! Weed becomes your "security blanket" when reality gets to painfull, you reach for the weed to numb you and escape into "I don't care land." This is the act of "imature people." Mature people face their problems in life. Druggies, weed smokers, boozers, all RUN AND HIDE from their problems by using drugs. This is the act of an IMMATURE person. Running from reality and your problems by using drugs will guarantee you will spend the rest of your life in LOSERVILLE! In reality people who rely on drugs to get thru life are PUSSY'S AND WIMPS. Taking Zoloft won't turn you into a loser like weed does. All non-prescription drugs (and over the counter ones) are Evil! I used to smoke it but at 38 I just cant go out and buy it anymore because I feel stupid and have a lack of trust for the guys who deal it. I would love to grow my own just a small amount for every now and then but I dont know how to get seeds. You mean some people DON'T smoke weed? they're lyyyyyyyying.

Weed is no more of a drug than alcohol is. Just because you smoke it doesn't mean you have to smoke it all the time. Most people who drink alcohol don't drink it all day and every day. They'll do it on occasion. You have to take responsibility with it, just like with alcohol, prescription drugs, chocolate cake, anything. If you do it on occasion, there's nothing wrong with it. weed is awesome, just dont let it get out of hand

Without pot he is a stressed out man with stomach problems, with it he leads a normal life. I am a 30 year old computer company executive who just quit smoking pot as my New Year's Resolution. I only quit for one reason: because it is illegal. I am now a father, and have responsibilities that I did not before. I got into trouble for it when I was younger (and less responsible), and do not want that happening again. The only negative side effect to marijuana is paranoia. Do you know why people become paranoid on pot? Because it is illegal! We've had some interresting debates here on the history of pot, but here is something that was not covered: In 1937, the DuPont Company, a plastics company who had a lot to gain from criminalizing the production and importation of hemp - their greatest challenge to have plastics become the new staple of synthetic American products - used their resorces and government contacts (including the newly selected head of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics, Andrew Mellon, who owned Mellon Bank, the sixth-largest bank in America, and the #1 bank of DuPont ever since 1928) to pass a law banning the production, import and posession of the drug Marijuana. Cannabis was called "the most violence causing drug in the history of mankind" by Harry Anslinger, the US Assistant Commissioner or Prohibition - and nephew of Andrew Mellon - before Congress. When asked if the American Medical Association had been involved in the testing of this drug Marijuana, Anslinger said that a Dr Wharton of the AMA was in complete agreement. Once the AMA found out that these politicians were using the Mexican slang term for cannabis, (two days before the verdict would be issued) they attempted to challenge the statements, even informing Congress that there was no Dr Wharton employed by the AMA. By then it was too late, through a series of plotically-motivated actions, hemp was outlawed under the guise of a new illicit drug that was being brought into our country by Mexican immigrants. Between 1966 and 1976, the Federal Government did thousands of studies of the medical use of cannabis, and determined that it was the (and I quote) "best and safest medicine of choice" for many ailments. So not only did it make the strongest rope, the most durable clothing, and the cheapent means to make paper pulp per acre, it also had some medical benefit. So a petition was started to rule that all research into the plant would be handled by select American Pharmaceutical Companies. In 1976, the Ford Administraction and the DEA ruled that no more insdependant research would ever be done, and that these drug companies would be in charge of determinig if there were any positive (and negative) effects. So, being drug companies, they decided they would use this governent time to research ways to make synthetic drugs that would be just as medically beneficial, that they could all make more money off of than some naturally-occuring plant. That would help answer the question of why pharmaceutical companies contribute over half of the funding for all of the "Drug-Free America" groups that are supposedly government-run. Isn't it curious that the other half is not provided by the US Government, but instead by cigarette and liquor companies like R.J. Reynolds, Philip Morris, Coors, and Anhauser Busch and the ad companies that represent them? Of course the drug companies have still never given the plant enough credit to warrant its legalization. But did you really think the manufacturer of morphine would go before Congress to tell them that it really was the most beneficial treatment for people who are suffering from cancer? So the next time you closed-minded marijuana-bashers have your mind altered by the brainwashing machine that you probably use as your own replacement to drugs, your television, and a commercial comes on where these groups who are pretending to have your interests in mind instead of their wallets, and they try to convince you that they want to educate you about pot, ask yourself why it took a 13-year daily marijuana user to give you the first unbiased factual information about cannabis that you have ever heard in your entire life. So if you use pot, don't let these folks make you feel guilty for it. The government used to acknowledge how well it worked until their interests conflicted with that philosophy. Grow it, eat it, smoke it, and live the life you want to lead. Do what you can to inform others and make it legal again. Join NORML. lets make an argument with 2 sides for starters. on the yes hand, we have the advantage of the hallucinacions and the relaxing "metal nerve" that if someone would go and put a knife 2mm away from your eye you would look straight thourgh it and wave to the person who is holding it. on the no hand we have the stereotypically successful non pot smokers. these guys stereotypically are trying to make an honest living and are always uptight and fixed on their way of life e.g. if they had a tough day at work they in theory would be so steamed up and harassed that they could melt through 2 inch thick steel. and after considering these points of fact,opinion,fiction, or just plain sillyness, i have come to this conclusion. ill try to make this one more neutral. non-potters, dont penalise the potters for smoking weed, because this is their chosen way of life, althought not the most successful route, its their path non the less.And potters, although you want more people to join your buzz party, and some will believe you me, dont make the hot headed non-potters more agrevated by pressing them into using pot, because although some might like it, some of these people have a future, i mean, imagine if einstein had smoked a round of blitzens, or stephen hawkins had a couple o smokes in his lifetime, people would still be in the 1940's due to the slack-headedness of government. but if i were to smoke pot, i would have to smoke only when i needed it, not in excessive amounts but just a little to calm me down or relax me when i feel like a treat. and to say im a 15 year old has to mean somthing about the mess the world is in today...

Nor has it ever impaired my ability to succeed, and I have, socially, financialy and professionally. I don't drink or smoke while at work, nor do I do it everyday. I can stretch a quarter into a month or two's time. The high is always better if you do it sporadiclly, like eating a nice steak, or sex. Moderation is key. I don't become lethargic at all, but quite the contrary. It amazes me when people, or parents, think it is going to make their children fat, lazy drug addicted underachievers... WAKE UP YOU FRICKING IDIOTS, most of your kids are already fat, lazy, underachievers lounging in front of the TV all day, playing video games, eating junk food! Tell them to get off their lazy ass's and go outside and play! At least if they start smoking pot (become drug addicted) you'll have a scapegoat, and blame, for your failure as a parent! According to the studies I've been reading on the net, Alcohol kills brain cells, Marijuana does not. I worked at a company for 15 years until it moved it's operations and I choose an office closure package instead of relocating to a city I did not want to live in. Don't smoke it and never will. I might sample a nice brownie though. Definately every day, especially at night when I have insomnia, works like a charm. It works better than anything else to ease pain, especially headaches and cramps. It also takes away nausea and if I am stressed out, it relaxes me. I would rather smoke it any day than take some man-made chemical drug. Tried it once; all it did was make me paranoid. Didn't get a buzz of any kind whatsoever.
