Here is the formula b=bat a=ball b+a=1.10 a will equal the cost of the bat minus 1.00 so a=b-1 sub in formula b+b-1=1.10 b+b=.10 2b=.10 b=.05 so bat is 1.05 and ball .05 Voted : 5 cent price of ball= x price of bat=x+$1.00 x+x+$1.00=$1.10 2x + $1.00=$1.10 2x=$1.10-$1.00 2x=0.10 x=0.05 This is a Republican Budget Amendment trick to benefit a manufacterer of the baseball equipment.
