[+] ballot by invictus_angel

I was reading the newspaper last night and saw an interesting article. The article said that 59% of people, in a online quiz, said that they wouldn't hire a person with tattoos/piercings unless they could cover them up. They also mentioned that in 20010 their should be around 169 million (or thousand or something like that ,I can't find the paper now.) jobs will be open, but only 152..(mill, thous. ect.) people will be able to fill those jobs. Why? Because the other majority of people will has some form of body modification.

I would hire a person with tattoos/piercings.
I would not hire a person with tattoos/piercings.
Yes, only if they could cover them up.
Only if they were incredibly smart
Depends on the position

Yes but it would depend on the position I was hiring for.

Yeah, I would say yes. And not because I have some myself, but because I don't understand why people would judge a person that dd have some sort of body modification.
I don't know, never thought about it
Oops, I meant 2010. Sorry about that you guys.
Hello Larry. I'm new here. LadyS's lil sis, nice 2 meet you. :)
If they were best qualified for a position and their decorations did not affect their job performance, then yes, of course.
That's a good way to say it griffon. :)
what abc said also, some customers might be turned off by the piercings and not patronize

nice to meet you too invictus_angel , what do you do for fun?
What do I do for fun eh? I write horror/mystery books. How about u?
It would depend on the posistion. If they're working with the customers then no. All those peircings and tatoos remind people of pirates. And pirates make customers nervous.lol. Arghhhhh me matey!
Just from my little experience... here workinf for the US fed gov. tons of them have tatoos, piercings or even extreme colored hair (purple, bright red, ect). makes no difference here I guess ;)
that sounds interesting angel, I just do the usual stuff, basketball, swimming, hanging with friends
yes
why not?? why be so uptight??
its not being uptight, but if I had a shop that only little blue hair ladies shopped , and they are uncomfortable with piercings, what am I suppose to do?
If I was running a law firm, I wouldn't want any of my lawyers with visible piercings or tattoos.
I don't have tattoos, but almost all other qualifications are more important than whether they have a tattoo or not. Pierced tongues I'm not quit as sure about.
Honey,I have an freelance job of designing tattoos. So of course I would.
Voted : I would hire a person with tattoos/piercings.
I've had a lot of good co-workers who had tattoos or piercings. Are people really that hung up about them still, in 2008?!
