Wisdom: (Barbara)

Wisdom shines brightly and never fades; She is readily discerned by those who love her, and by those who seek her, she can be found. She is quick to make herself known to all who desire knowledge of her; he who rises early in search of her will not grow weary in the quest; for he will find her seated at the door of his heart. To meditate on her is prudence in its perfect shape, and to be vigilant in her cause is the short way to freedom from care. She herself searches far and wide for those who are worthy of her divine; and on their daily path, she appears to them with kindly intent meeting them half-way in all their purposes. The true beginning of wisdom is the desire to learn, and a concern for learning means love towards her; the love of her means the keeping of her laws; To keep her laws is a warrant of immortality, and immortality brings him nearer to God. Pale envy will not travel in her company, for the spiteful will have no share in wisdom. Therefore, learn what she has to teach you, and it will be for your good. We all come into life by a single path, and by a single path we go out again. In wisdom there is a spirit intelligent and holy, unique in its kind yet made up of many parts; subtle free-moving, lucid, spotless, clear, neither harmed nor harming, loving what is good, eager, unhampered, beneficent, kindly towards mortals, steadfast, unerring, untouched by care, ALL-POWERFUL, all surveying, and permeating every intelligent, pure, and most subtle spirit. For wisdom moves more easily than motion itself; Like a fine mist she rises from the power of God, a clear effluence from the glory of the almight. Therefore, nothing defiled can enter into her by stealth. She is the radiance that streams from everlasting light, the flawless mirror of the active power of God, and the image of his goodness. Wisdom is but one, yet can do all things. She is unchanging, she makes all things new; age after age she enters into holy souls and make them friends of God and prophets. For nothing is acceptable to God but the person who makes his home with wisdom. However, against wisdom, no evil can prevail. Wisdom adds lustre to her noble birth, because it is given her to live with God. If someone loves uprightness, the fruits of wisdom's labours are the virtues; temperance, prudence, justice, and fortitude; These are her teaching, and life can offer nothing of more value. When you go home, you shall find rest with her; For there is not bitterness in her company, no pain in life with her, only gladness and joy. To be taught in her school gives understanding, and an honorable name is won by converse with her. For wisdom enabled the dumb to speak, and made the tongues of the infants eloquent. My friends, seek wisdom's instruction while you are young, and you will still find her when your hair turns white. How harsh she seems to the uninstructed! She is not accessible to many...I found my wisdom and SHE is DHC or should I say, Barbara...With all that is within me to do so...I love you Barbara :O)
