BASED ON PARENTAL INCOME, SHOULD THERE BE LAWS LIMITING CHILD BIRTHS?

Aside from the problem of a pending population explosion, another problem is that some parents have more children than they can afford. Some people say this isn't fair to the children, and that it leads to poverty and causes all kinds of social problems that the rest of society ends up paying for, one way or another.

So should their be laws put in place regarding family income and number of children being born and raised?

Yes, there should be limits
No limits necessary
comments
Not based on income

Let's just invite Big Brother to set up shop while we're at it...

Uhm, exactly how are you going to enforce limits on the most basic privacy rights. Have big brother make sure someone wears a condom or takes birth control?

Er... well... they manage it (to an extent) in China.

I'm totally against it, as I believe would be any decent human being.

If we are going down this slippery slope, why not qualify parents on DNA, intelligence, conformity, compatibility, and so on? This kind of stuff opens a huge Pandora's box of incredible proportions. Stay out of it I say.

I always love how people vote yes on these types of ballots, but are too cowardly to own up to it.

Oh my god, are you saying now that the poor are not entitled to have family's??? So what happens if an affluent parent suddenly becomes poor, will the offspring of such parents be taken away from them and given to people who can afford to keep them???

Limits based on income?!?

Any other perks for the rich you want to legislate, while you're at it?

How about voting. Or access to clean water, healthcare, security?

Oh, sorry ... I forgot -- looks as if those last have already been put into effect.

Nature takes care of this. Poverty is a powerful tool.
