I admit that many democrats today whine and complain about the administration, but, if a democratic administration were in power, don't you think republicans would do the same?
FDR, Truman, Kennedy, and LBJ are all presidents in history. Current Democrats, for better or worse are not quite the same. Most Democrats today are not as assertive as those people were in using the power of the US to try to build a better world.

I guess one big change would be that there would be a lot less lies and disinformation form the government, so maybe fewer people would be deluded and basing their conclusions on misinformation.

It depend on what type of Democrat is leading the nation.If it was a democrat that was a "terror warrior" like Joe Liberman then maybe this nation would stand a chance of defeating Al Qeada.However if it's the mainstream of the Democrat party meaning the socialist-lite politicans such as Ho Chi Clinton and Howard Dean then you might as well convert to Islam.
