Voted : valuable literature
As far as am concerned the Bible is a valuable work of literature that should be respected and recognize as one of the foundations of Western though and culture.Greek mythology and epic poetry being the other foundation.
Voted : a reference for history
Should be filed under Fiction... and, I like a good fiction.

Ficticious stories and propaganda interspersed with good moral advice on how to treat yourself and others.
I think you need to define "Bible". The Catholic Bible is a bit different than the protestant one and of course the Jewish Bible is different from both of those.
Voted : the word of God
As Written By Man, with all the biases tossed in.
Whether you believe in God as an entity or if you believe he/she is a myth not unlike Zeus, you must admit it provides us with wonderful rules to live by.

it's also got lots of stories of hate, cruelty and war and says a Lot of downright ridiculous stuff. "Cursed be he who does the Lords work remissly, cursed he who holds back his sword from blood." (Jeremiah 48:10 NAB) Okay that one's just bloody but there is Much more nonsense, like how to beat your wife and share your daughters.

Voted : a fairy tale
Its just one of a bunch of books that attempts to make sense out of a godless universe.
Interesting that the word of god option has the most votes, but not many defenders.
Just like many ledgends that cant be proven nor disproven.
I believe there is a lot of 'gold' in the New Testament, in regards to how to live ones' life. Unfortunately, too many seem to latch onto every passage but these.

I agree with Steel, there's no proof. I'm confused, no one has been able to explain that book to me yet. I'm a selfish little punk, so just show me the money.
