Guns are fairly easy to purchase in the U.S and that's why the we have so many gun owners.Also alot of Americans hunt;I am willing to bet that most of the gun ownership in America is do to hunting.

A quote from The Declaration of Independence, "whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government" In essence, those that have the ability to make a necessary change, have the responsibility to make the necessary change. The 2nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution ensures that U.S. citizens are endowed with the ability to make changes, if necessary, by allowing themselves to be armed for battle. No one likes guns to be used inappropirately/illegaly, but, like it or not, guns are needed to ensure the freedoms of U.S. citizens.

Guess what ... that's illegal." -- Cathexis It's not like I'm actually advocating overthrow of the government, but if someone's pointing guns to the heads of government officials, it wouldn't really matter what's legal, would it? That said, it would be much wiser on the parts of both the overthrowees and the overthrowers to make peaceful change.
