COMMENTS:
Camp?

I never went to a camp of any sort.

I might have liked to as a kid but we just don't do that sort of thing over here.

No -- "camp" was for folks higher up on the socio- economic food chain than where I started.

O my camp is the best thing that could ever happen to a kid.

I don't imagine any kid going through life without camp.

Most of my camp experiences involved going into the Deep Woods. For a while, I thought my mother hated me, because she knew all too well how much I loathe and fear the Great Outdoors. The camps where I got more indoor activities weren't as bad for me.

When I was 13 and 14, I went to a week-long church camp two years in a row. It was great. There was probably 100 kids there from all over the state. We had lots of activities like swimming, volleyball, crafts, softball, canoeing, and long bike rides in the country.
