COMMENTS:
Excellent question. I have been disgusted by how many people seem willing to wet their pants whenever anyone yells "Boo! A terrorist!" It's time for people to grow a pair and get a grip, instead of diving under the bed everytime someone with no guts and/or an agenda screams 'Terrorism!'
And before any Binary Ankle-Biters whine that terrorism is a real threat, I say [quote:I am NOT advocating *ignoring* the problem -- only in acting like adults and assessing ACTUAL problems and situations ... not just fear-mongering to keep politicians in office and media outlets in the green.
It is imperative that we start dealing with realities ... not Political Opportunities or Sesnsationalist Opportunities. Only then will we be able to make REAL progress.
Great question. Don't know the answer. I feel sick in my soul.

What the hell am I going to do with all this duct tape and Cipro?
Voted : By forcing the media to only report on substantiated claims
In such situations, the wisest course of action, IMO, is for the airline involved in such a scenario and the TSA to sit the press down at a news conference and hand them printouts of the information gathered to date, then walk away without further comment. Any speculation done afterward should immediately be pointed out, and those speculating should be ridiculed.
^Agreed. It's time for the alarmist in the media to stop the speculation and sensationalism and just report the facts.CNN,MSNBC and Fox all made themselve look like fools when they reported these wild claims without checking the source.Did these guys even take an undergrad class in jouranalism?
Voted : By encouraging media AND government to stop knee-jerk & intentional fear- mongering
Its total fear mongering. Face it our government has found our hot button and they'll milk it to effect the economy, elections, you name it. We're being ruled by fear and hate rhetoric.
