Hollywood does perpetuate those sterotypes, but there are other sterotypes, like sterotypes against Arabs that have been perpetuated in movies again and again. Also, Arabs apparently perpetuate sterotypes about Westerners in their movies too.

I once went to visit family in Jersey, and a cousin of mine asked me "How much 'shine do you roll out a year?" Stereotypes are easy to toss around. Thinking's apparently the hard thing to do.
A southern white isn't necessarily a redneck, so you espoused the first bias that they espouse.
That is probably the worst. If you are a southern white male you are a redneck. So that makes Algore, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Sam Nunn, and many others rednecks.
Secondly, and it goes along with redneck label, is that the southern white male is racist.
Well...there's *some* truth to some of them.The problem is that Hollywood and the media in general shamelessly push it to extremes.It's also very ironic that the Hollywood elite are pushing stereotypes as past slave owners and inbreds onto southerners/country folk exclusivley.That's just plain racist propaganda.
