As for Margarets comment, I find ger attitude extremely worrying to say the least. What makes you think you could bring "peace and prosperity" to the rest of the world, when you cant even attain it in your own country? Have you ever considered that actually you may NOT be the pinnacle of societal development, and other countries may in fact not want you to interfere in their affairs?
For the ballot i would say that the US is an empire in a sense but nowhere near Rome, British or persian empires yet. an empire is a nation that takes land through conquest, that means controling the surrounding country aswell so military bases don't really count as an empire. But i think the US has formed a new sort of empire building through which it can project it's power and political aims from those military bases, i think of it as "passive empire building." The US is also, as corrupt has already mentioned, using cultural imperialism.
Karma_junky if you have something to say then say it without resorting antagonizing to childish insults, When USRocks says something that has anything to do with the military it is most likely true and on most occasions has given websites and evidence of his claims. Basically if you have nothing interesting, important or even remotely constructive to say then i'd suggest that you take your comments elsewhere because i can see nothing in USRock's comments that should have prevoked you to attack him like you have done.
