Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki (speaking)
through an interpreter on CNN's "Late Edition"...
dodged a series of questions about Iraqi support for Hezbollah and whether his government had any intention of recognizing Israel.

"This issue is not on the table at this point," al-Maliki said of diplomatic relations with the Jewish state, adding that the issue of Israel should be handled by "international laws."

Huh? "Handled by "international laws?" What does mean?

The United States has so far sacrificed 2,600 soldiers, had tens of thousands of casualties, spent hundreds of billions of dollars, and wrecked our image throughout the world making Iraq into a democracy. Shouldn't the U.S. then, be able to expect that, at the very least, Iraq will recognize Israel and repudiate Hezbollah?

Iraq isn't really in a position to do anything as a unified country at the moment.

Hey I wonder if the American people can expect members of congress like John Dingle to recognize Israel and condemn Hezbollah?

Kind of blew a hole in your theory there.

^Why, did we spend a trillion dollars, 2,600 lives, and tens of thousands of casualities on Dingle's behalf, too?
