Voted : Some of it
I wouldn't say that they lie as much as they purposely omit certain truths. They are all owned by the same tribe which is another one of their intentional "omissions".
Well CBS, reuters and the AP have been caught in fabrications. I'd say their credibility is pretty flimsy. The rest, mostly true but presented with bias (leftwing with the exception of foxnews).

As Gaylord Perry would say, it's all in the way you handle the ball...
"Well CBS, reuters and the AP have been caught in fabrications." Untrue. They have made errors, which they have owned up to. Unlike a certain neocon, who creates fabrications, but never owns up to them, even when caught red-handed. "I'd say their credibility is pretty flimsy." Untrue. They have tremendous credibility, unlike the typical rightwing propagandist. "The rest, mostly true but presented with bias (leftwing with the exception of foxnews)." Untrue. Most news outlets are center right, with the exception of Fox News, which is essentially rightwing, Republican propaganda.
Cranky, like you, I used to believe that NBC/CNN/ABC/CBS/The AP/Reuters were tons more credible than FOX could ever be. But, as herzog pointed out, some have published a few edited/staged photos. This, for me at least, makes them less credible, no matter whether they knew that the photos had been edited/staged. That said, I would still choose ABC/CNN/NBC any day of the week over FOX.
I think most of the international media has a liberal slant so I think most of the things we read, hear or see from the media is propaganda.
I suspect that all of the news media put a spin on things. Some do it inadvertently, others more intentionally. The trick is to read as many different accounts as you can and hope you get a reasoned average.
I suppose when it suits your view of the world Ken, none of it is biased. But as soon as it counters your view, it's all biased as hell. See ballot - 101388
The truth is not always what's aid but often what's NOT said.
