It worked like a charm after World War II.
No, you should ask first why you are being treated badly, and address the behaviour which elicits the bad treatment in the first place.

ken, the situation could be some type of random type of violenced that is perpetrated against me or someone I know.
I've been treated badly, been physically harmed more than once, simply because who I am, and I've never tossed out my moral and ethical values.
Only if you are defending Israel.
Absolutely! But revenge is best served cold. In other words, cool down and don't go off half-cocked because it's always the guy who returns the "punch" that gets caught. You may want to try a pre-emptive strike. In other words, treat them badly first.
It is impossible to generalize here. Certainly, one's values are tested by circumstances, yet there are degrees. If I am treated badly by being ignored, for example, I will probably leave with my values intact. If someone slaps me, my value concerning non-violence may well fail me. For me there is no universal answer.
It depends on how badly your being treated.
^ It does depend on how badly you're being treated. Physically as opposed to verbally are factors to consider. I don't think tossing out your moral or ethical values is an appropriate response either way.

No, although the thought is tempting sometimes.
Amazing Many of the people voting on this ballot are the same people who advocate the violent murder of peadophiles rather than their imprisonment, yet they have voted no. Forgetfulness, or lies?
