We keep hearing about so called 'moderate' Muslims, it's unfortunate part is not just of their rare, scarce, handful existence, but they are not the voice of mainstream Islam nor of Arab press for that matter. We keep being told that we should not judge Arab Muslims by the acts of "exremists", yet this is exactly what their mainstream does routinely about the west, moreover aren't these "extremists" embraced (or at least apologized for) by 'normal' Arab Muslims? Funny creed Islamist: you can bomb own "holy" mosques crowded with own brothers and sisters, or send own kids on "holy" genocide-bombing missions, you can even have sex with prostitutes prior to a massacre on the infidels (Muhammad Atta the night before 9/11 and other Jihadists), but no, you can't have a comic little drawing of Muhammad. Have you heard a 'Moderate' Muslim denouncing the genocide bombers on Israelis, the homicide bombers in Iraq, the massacre-bombing in NYC, Madrid, Bali, London, or the genocide in Darfur, etc?

None that I know of. But I don't figure it to be high on threir "Things To Do" list, what with their all-out "Destroy Israel" program running.
margaret, I commented on my theory about the lack of condemnation of suicide bombers and such a few weeks back, that I liken it to crime occuring in predominately Black neighborhoods. Sure, it's there, and everyone who lives there wants it gone, but the cops can't be around all the time, while the bad guys *live* there.
good logic. I can go steal a tv at walmart and when caught, tell them how I should be able to do that since Ken Lay types do it all the time, but I don't think that will help me get off.

I would disagree with part of your description. They are also committing genocide against black Muslims. There is a racial as well as religious component to this. Countries? No. They keep stalling action in the UN and organizations. Organizations? Not really. I looked over a few Muslim organization websites and they all acknowledged that the response from Muslims communities and organizations has been poor. More than a couple complained that "Zionists" (read JEWS) are abusing this issue. Of course they are. They only contribute tons of money to Stop the Darfur Genocide groups, provide the most speakers at public events and the most marchers/protesters at public events.

I speak to people from the middle east all the time, and I've brought up the genocide in the Sudan, and you would be surprised at how many don't know its going on, and some who I've known for over 2 years have called me a liar, and said it was USA that is causing the problem not Arabs. I don't blame them , I think this is what they are told or not told, and yes, remembering how this site works, I'll add the usual disclaimer, many in the west don't know it's happening and many who do don't care.
^Larry, I think it is more of the "don't care", quit bothering me, apathy, I can't handle or comprehend this tragedy type of thing/
LCD: someone carries out horrible acts in your name long enough and eventually you will be associated with them. The nazi party is forever linked with germany, even though most germans had nothing to do with it, slavery in the US is linked with the south, even though few southerners owned even a single slave, and the catholic church will forever be linked with pedophillia, even though a minority had anything to do with it. In all those cases good people were in the majority, and in every one they sat by silently (with a very few notable exceptions) as their comrades committed horrible acts in their name, and they will always bear that shame. Decent muslims of today, that we are told are the majority, are sitting idly by while atrocities are carried out in the name of their religion. And if they don't start opposing it very loudly, and very soon, they will be forever linked to terrorism, genocide and injustice.
^yeah, could be that
^That was for fiddles comment
interesting what larrynelmira said. if they don't know, it's hard to blame them. Internet was supposed to carry information to everyone without borders. With Google and Yahoo censoring information because they need to make money in China is a disturbing trend.

To whoever voted 'yes I'll list them below' could you please actually list them below?
And since few, if any, of the white, Westerners on B&W are familiar with ANY major Arab or Muslim organization, that makes the spin job on this ballot pretty easy. (herzie ballot category: "Muslim Bashing")
And, anyway, the Shriners have spoken out against the genocide in Sudan.
So far 4 people have voted yes, no one has provided any examples. So I'll take this as a resonding 'no, no muslim organizations have condemned the genocide'. Think about that.
^Classic 1984 thinking. Of course, "yes" means "no" and "no" means "yes," all based on the propadanda context.
