No real reason for it to be illegal. Let people marry anyone they want so long as all involved are over 18 and consent.
Polygamy has often been linked to things like spousal abuse, marriages to underage women, conditions that amount to slavery for the wives, etc etc etc. I think that's one of the reasons it's frowned upon, that and our shared cultural heritage that preaches monogamy.
But those crimes are seperate offenses already on the books and would be prevented if the man had one wife or twenty.
I agree should be legal, like with gay marriages, a person can sleep with every girl or boy in Nevada, but not able to marry, it's because of religion , and that huge voting block. Separation of Church and State are just words that aren't being enforced, must be , no other explanation I can think of.
By the way, I didn't give up my religion while gone, I just realized if we have a constitution we can't pick and choose which laws we want enforced.
As long as bigamy remains illegal, I guess I don't care too much if Durleen, Lurleen, Holeen, Joleen, and Becky Sue all get themselves hitched to Jodell. As long as it's open and above board.

Only if it works the other way. If men can marry more than one woman? Why not women marrying more than one man?

Yes, the government has no right to dictate the lifestyle of consenting adults.
It's not the governments job to deem one lifestyle moral and another immoral based on the Christian moral standard.
I think a women should be allowed to have as many husbands as she wants.
Think.... multiple mothers in law!!
