HAS THE BUSH FAILURE IN THE IRAQ WAR ACTUALLY STRENGTHENED IRAN?

[+] serious ballot by cranky
ACTIVE Tue Aug 29, 06 - Sun May 24, 09

Part of the Bush justification for the Iraq War was that invading Iraq would be the first step in taming Muslim extremism throughout the world. Far from dampening extremism, the Taliban, Hezbollah, Hamas and others seem invigorated by Bush's Iraq fiaso.

Is Iran also behaving more aggressively now because they see the United States being bogged down and becoming exhausted in Iraq? Has the Bush failure in Iraq actually made Iran's position, especially in obtaining nuclear weapons, even stronger?

Yes
No
No. Because Iraq has not been a failure.

^You're shitting us right? Iran has something called a MILITARY INDUSTRY, I don't think an air campaign would be as successful as you might think.

YES! With the Great Satan reeking all kinds of havoc in the country next door, it's easy for the Iranian people to believe that the Great Satan will soon be upon them. Therefore they feel they must arm themselves to the teeth in preparation for an invasion. The Great Satan is right at their doorstep.

Before the Iraq war, we had a buffer state separating radical Islam from the Gulf Oil States. Now we have made it likely that the Iranian Shites will join with the Iraqi Shites and foment Islamic Extremist Revolution not only down the gulf but throughout the world. George's dad was smart enough to keep Saddam in power when it had the power to remove him. The idiot son doesn't get much.

LCB:

I understand your feelings. I believe that once Iran gets nukes (and they will) all hell will eventually break loose. However, the last two times the "invasion by air" approach has been used in a big way, in Iraq and in Lebanon, the results have been mixed, at best.

Yes; Iran's biggets enemy used to be ... Iraq. We invaded and have paved wthe way for a Shiite theocracy to become established there. I swear, Bush must be a radical muslim extremist ... he gave bin Laden his 'Great Satan invader of the Middle East' and he took out Iran's only local enemy ...
