I'd like to see if the guy who wrote that article, when bound and threatened by terrorists, would do what he reccomends the "cowardly" FOX journalists do.
Like many on the right, they holler and condemn until its time for them to stand up and put themselves in harms way.
Interesting topic, cowardice. I'd argue that they might be cowards; but, were definitely being pragmatists. Given the option, they probably thought things would go better for them if they did what they were told. In that respect, I can understand what THEY did; although I would have a hard time respecting MYSELF, if I made the same decision. If I was in the same situation, I'm pretty sure that I would NOT think things would go better for me if I did what I was told. But, then again, I don't think this life is all there is. So, I'd take a slightly different tactic; but, I wouldn't want to die, as himself809 has alluded. I hope I could look them in the eye, and say (as humbly as possible), "You're going to do what you want, and what position am I in to stop you? Don't get me wrong gentlemen, (addressing the captors) I really would prefer not to die TODAY; but, if today then so be it. Regardless of what you say, I cannot do EVERYTHING you are telling me to do. Let me see the transcript of what you want me to read. Depending on what it says, I might read it. But, I'm not converting this way, nor would I try to convert YOU with coercion." You see, himself809, imo, process is an end in itelf. This is the second time today that I've quoted Patrick Henry: "What is it that gentlemen wish? What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God." Now, if a guy thinks there is nothing worse than death? Yep. Do what they tell you. If he thinks what they are telling him to do will not play into the thing that is worse than death? Again, do what they say. But, if he's being asked to compromise the very thing that HE personally is living for, he won't do what they say, there would be no reason because then he would have nothing left for which to live. Let me give you an example: Suppose they captured these two guy's mothers with them. Suppose they said, "shoot your mother, and we'll let you live?" My guess is TADA! Bravery.

David Warren is a grade A asshole who has no idea what he would do in that situation.Those men had their lives threatened and they did what any rational person would do,preserve their life at all cost.I would do the same thing if it ment I could walk away alive.
I suspect that this guy is only attacking the two reporters based upon the company that they work for. The real coward is the author of this piece.

I might not care for Fox and their personnel on a professional level, I won't condone this moron's comments. Let him open his trap after *he's* been kidnapped.
What did you want them to do stick there heads on the cutting board and told them to do it. They were brave for being over there in the first place. How many of you cowards would run to Canada instead of fighting.
I think its reasonable for them to convert and cooperate in order to save their own lives. However once they returned to safety they should have denounced their captives rather than become apologists for Islam.
