Nope, but we've gotta admit, he had it coming.
Deserve? jeez thats a little harsh. No he didn't. He had a wife and a child...that's the saddest part, to me. But yes...a freakish death like that was definitely in his cards unfortunately.

We just saw this, we're so sad. For Steve himself it isn't that sad because he was gonna push himself until he died violently so I bet he'd be glad it was animals that got him not a plane or boat wreck. I am sad for his family though, very sad even though they all knew the risks he was taking all the time.

He was very good at what he did dont think he had it coming.
he was an environmentalist that fought for the survival of wildlife and you're asking if he deserved to die? funny how you'll protest a convicted murderer from getting gassed to death and then ask a question as stupid as this
no, he knew what he was doing with the really dangerous stuff, this was just a freak accident, hes like the 3rd person to have died that way in Australia ever
Oh, I'm sorry lcd, I didn't see this ballot, I'll try to wipe mine

No, he was a good guy. This is heartbreaking. He was recently doing a show on Animal Planet with his wife and adorable two kids, and I thought he was an awesome, awesome father. His little girl adored him. I can't begin to imagine what she is feeling right now.

He was a decent bloke and a great entertainer. I think he will be sadly missed. I myself was upset to hear of his death and my sympathy goes out to his family. The world needs more decent blokes like that. Rest in peace Steve Irwin

Noone DESERVES to die, except for the convicted Capital Murderer.

Of course not. But although he loved wildlife, perhaps he should have respected it more. Similar to the guy who tried to live with grizzly bears in Alaska, who ended up being eaten by them. Wild animals are not pets, enjoy them from a distance.

Of course not, I liked him, sad he is gone
He wrestled crocodiles for a living and ended up getting killed by a fish. Maybe he got to confident.

He was a victim of incredibly bad luck, he startled a stingray that he may or may not have been aware of camouflaged and partly concealed in the sand and silt on the sea bed, it lashed out and it's spur/sting penetrated his heart, had it struck him anywhere else he almost certainly would have lived. Terrible tragedy. (that's what I gather so far - it's early days and the story may change in the meantime)
Oh please, only a government shill believes that a stingray killed Mr. Irwin. It was the CIA, they were silencing him in a plot to steal oil, somehow, maybe involving crocadiles. If you look carefully at the video-tape you can tell that he wasn't stabbed but was in fact anhilated by controlled explosions.
Sorry, I fail to find any humor in this situation.

Nobody rates that for a death.
Let's try not to bring politics into what should remain, IMO, a tribute to a great guy.

but as hubby says.... guess you can only play with dangerous animals for so long before one of them gets you
