Voted : I can take 'em or leave 'em
My wife won't let me go anymore since I did my G-Unit imitation in front of the baboon cage.
Voted : Strongly against them
Zoos are bad for animals and bad for humans who frequent them.
Only wild animal parks should be allowed. Zoos are prisons
Depends on the zoo. In some of them the animals are kept in small cages. In some, they have an acre or two of roaming space. They're definitely no worse than someone keeping a cat or a dog indoors for it's entire life, IMO. Depends on the purpose of the zoo too. Many have excellent breeding programs are are able to return some of the animals to the wild. The zoo nearest me even has a few 'handicapped' animals. These are animals that wouldnt survive well even if they were in a wildlife park.
Zoos depress the heck out of me. But some have realistic habitats and a lot of zoos are watching over some important animals who might not live long without the zoo's help. The give me a terrible feeling, the caged-up animals but some of their habitats are being ruined. Someday a lot of those animals might only be living in pens at the zoos :(
