By modern standards. Humans preying on, and hunting wild and free animals for "enjoyment". Should it still be considered a fun and sporting activity, or should it be considered an outdated primitive act?

THe only rationale I can see in hunting or fishing is to put food on the table. Anything else is a waste of time, money and effort.

I kind of have mixed feelings. I'm not big on animals being shot or trapped, but for some reason I don't get as bothered about fish being caught. Some sort of mental detachment I guess, because the fish are under water were I don't see them enough to appreciate them. Does anyone else feel this way too, about fish I mean?
