It seems that American politicians do not listen to Americans any more. How else can we explain the illegal immigration stances of "our" representatives? Polls show that 75 percent of Americans want a secure border built and oppose amnesty for illegal immigrants. Still our representatives push on trying to keep the current policies or make illegals legal. Then there is the outrageous cost of medical care and prescription drugs. Americans overwhemingly want healthcare and prescription drug costs down to the levels of other western countries. Everyone, including the Congress claims to want lobby reform. It doesn't happen. Why is that?

Have lobbyists taken over the American political process? If so, how can it be changed?

Yes, lobbyists have taken over our government
No, Congress can still vote how they wish
Lobbying is a fundamental right

America is controlled by corporate profiteering. If there's a way to make money while at the same time brainwashing the fuck out of the American people, you can bet they found a way and you're already being subjected to it.

Lobbyists are definitely a problem. Get the government out of business and you wipe out alot of those problems. As long as they're not in a position to grant favors business will stop trying to buy congressmens votes.
