A great deal of Classic Rock is derived from the Blues. Many old time male Blues performers apparently had women who were "mean mistreaters". Their women often fooled around with every man in town. What's more these women often had as many as 8 children, and none of the children bore any physical resemblance to the Blues performer. Some of these women wouldn't even give their Blues singing man a drink of water, or prepare their ham bones properly. Is it any wonder that violence often erupted? The Classic Rockers merely felt empathy, and thus continued to tradition of singing about these no count and mean mistreatin' women and the domestic violence that their wicked and low down ways often lead to.
