Unfortunately yes minorites tend to be at the lower end of the economic structure and thus are more likely to steal or committ robberies. However if we look at the more horrible crimes like murder, child molestation and serial rape these tend to be white working class men.
It all depends on your perspective, doesn't it? Maybe more likely to get caught doing a petty crime while those at the top sometimes cheat people out of millions. Stealing isn't a race issue.
A better question would be "are poor people more likely to steal than wealthy people?" The answer to this would be obvious. Of course, there are more poor minorities than Whites, so they probably steal more than Whites.
not of equal social standing, no. poor people are more likely to steal than rich people. and in our culture, more minorities are poor than rich. so yes. if we're not talking about petty theft, but corporate crimes, then the reverse is true.
Sure. Its not like Ken Lay stole hundreds of millions from Enron and its not like that MCI guy stole hundreds of millions from MCI WorldCom. They're black just so you know. They're just wearing white men masks

I believe margaret123's 1st statment addresses the issue. 1: Most of the crime in America is not committed by minorities. 2. There is a cleqar association with poverty.
But it is easier to embrace stereotypes than look up actual statistics, eh?
