In today's world, a unilateral invasion by *any* country under *any* leader would fail.

Like you care cranky. The only time you make any comment on the genocide in Sudan is to mock herzog. You couldn't care less about doing anything to stop the genocide.
Only OVER 300,000 people have been murdered. Some have been raped and others have been enslaved.
Even if it stopped only a few more from dying it would be worth it. It is one of the worst (if not the worst) and vile crimes against humanity committed in the last few years. ARE WE NOT OUR BROTHER'S KEEPER? Do you choose to stand idly by or do you take action? What if it were your family being murdered? Will you be complicit by your inaction or will you do something?
Try doing something like writing your congressional representatives and the president and demanding something be done NOW. Also get involved with Save Darfur dot Org, darfur genocide dot org, iabolish dot com (anti-slavery) and numerous other organizations.
If someone thinks I am preaching about it, that is YOUR problem. I choose to take and support ACTION.
I agree totally, action is what is needed in Darfur, but without multilateral support, any action taken by the United States by itself is more than likely doomed to fail.

the milicias there wouldn't be able to stand up to us, we could help thousands of poor families.
(unless we again miscalculate and don't send enough arms to do the job.. like if maybe too much of our strength is spent stirrin up the hate in Iraq :)

Somebody, other than Iran, better do something. I just hope this batch of screw-ups (the Bush administration) isn't involved because the only thing they're good at is failure.

ANything launched by Bush has a better than average chance of failing.
We need real leaders (heck, even adults would be a nice change of pace).
