Voted : I am deeply committed ot the causes I support
Why would I waste my cyber-lung power on empty words?
Voted : I am deeply committed ot the causes I support
I do. I do and have taken actions on causes I support.
Voted : I just don't give a damn
And it usually shows.
I have had things that I really cared about go south on me... While I give a damn, I also don't take myself too seriously.

margaret123 has out-done herself! Good ballot. Yes, I really do give a damn, too. However, it is hard to understand the inappropriate flippancy given by some to serious ballots.
If people would take themselves and the things they care about (if they care about anything bigger than their steak dinner, I mean) more seriousl then a lot of things in the world would be changed for the better. Citizens not caring is what's about to make things spin out of control.. that or just plain stupidity, for which we deserve whatever we get :)

" However, it is hard to understand the inappropriate flippancy given by some to serious ballots." BlackLava, was that intended for me? Just curious. I see no other responses here that might even be remotely considered "flippant" unless you consider the author's choice, "I just don't give a damn" Am I articulating this correctly? The ballot itself is a serious ballot, ABOUT FLIPPANCY. You seem quite quick to form assumptions about people's intentions. Could this be because you're so in love with your OWN opinion? The ballot itself is ABOUT whether you give a damn, or not. Please allow me to reiterate more succinctly: You degraded the response because you didn't AGREE with it. There are VERY FEW things for which I am completely committed. To me, the quality of interpersonal interaction is VERY important. I do give a damn about that. That's why I am responding to you as I am. Often, however, people SAY that they "give a damn" about an issue when it's more likely that they "give a damn" about their OWN image FIRST, and the issue second. Me, I LOVE my own opinions, that's why I have them; so, although I hate to admit it, I probably fit into that second group a lot of times. But, people who hold on to their own opinions too strongly often end up picking a fight, or going to war. So, even about this, I will concede that some might find it too "flippant". If that's you, I regret that you've taken offense. I don't personally find my response too flippant, however. But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong. I mean "why should I give a damn what YOU think?" Ooops, their I go with my flippancy again. And, B_L? If you're comment wasn't about me, I apologize.
^When Rhett Butler told Scarlett O'Hara "Frankly my dear,..." Do you think it REALLY meant he stopped loving her, or that he had just quit insisting that he get his own way? Living with her was a struggle, and it wasn't wrong for him to give it up, when he saw he couldn't win, or that the victory would be Pyrrhic. Lots of time, when we say, "I just don't give a damn" it's because we've decided it's not worth it anymore.
