Cranky, what lousy way to start the day--depressing. “It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, more vengeance, more desolation. War is hell.” ~William Tecumseh Sherman “War is cruelty. There's no use trying to reform it. The crueler it is, the sooner it will be over.” ~William Tecumseh Sherman
You can imagine the moral outreage if Iran or Syria dropped them on tel aviv.... life is cheap to some commentators
Targeting Hezbollah was complicated because they intentionally stored rockets and ammunition in residential areas and homes. The use of cluster ammunition against Hezbollah is wrong under our agreement with Israel about its use, but war has a way of ignoring agreements.
Voted : No, cluster bombs are meant to kill and destroy indiscriminately. And bombing after the truce? Why?
Bastards. Pardon my Latin, please. No other words available.
To be the devils advocate: The trouble with killing people is that they never stay put. That's the "benifit" of the use of cluster bombs.
^The problem is that someday, sooner than you might think, someone is going to use that logic when justifying the use of nuclear weapons.
Hey, the CIA determined that using cruise missles against bin Ladin wouldn't work for the very reason stated.
"Israel dropped hundreds of thousands of leaflets, strongly advising civilians to vacate." Jinn, the tens of thousands of unexploded bomb will remain for years, if not decades. Israel had no right to try to turn Southern Lebanon into a no-man's land. This was a malign act, and simply provides justification for the Muslim hatred of Israel.
