I deliberately avoid Wal-Mart owing to their business practice and anti-unionism. I recommend the movie 'Wal-Mart - the high cost of low prices' for those interested in Wal-Marts business practices.

Wal-Mart employs about the same number of people as are in the US military (uniformed).
Wal-Mart is less into hiring the 'pretty' person than say, Tarjet. Noone is forced to work there and some were unemployable elsewhere.

I wouldn't shop at Wal-Mart for anything.

I detest Wal-Mart for what they are doing to America. I'm hoping not to need to get my open heart surgery done between the children's clothing aisle and the electronics aisle. But with Republicans in charge, we may all - unless we are rich - be getting what little health care we will be able to affort at Wal-Mart. Do you suppose the surgeons will make more than $9.00 per hour?

I plasn on living long enough to see the demise of Mr Walton's Greater Emporium of Evil, standing up just long enough to relieve myself on its grave before I expire.

yes I would. the best thing you can do is to take advantages of these things as they become available. You are not helping those poor people in china by boycotting walmart, in fact it's quite opposite - they will starve if it wasn't for those jobs. If people shopped walmart for those "ultra-low sales items" without buying the non-advertised, higher price than the competitor items, Walmart will go bankrupt within a year. then you can have some smaller competitor get into those fields and make an open market competition for the laborers to create better paying jobs.

I think this is a good idea. I think that pharmacies should compete on the cost of the drugs. This is far better than the "co-pay" thing. This could lower expenses for people that need certain medications but, are low income families or individuals. A company like Walmart or others, buy their drugs in bulk, but all charge you the same. This introduces competition. A good thing. Hopefully others will follow.
Who instigates the low pay? Companies like Wal-Mart.
Seems like a good idea. Cheap drugs, why are people complaining? Which is more importan: ensuring that no one profits off prescription drugs and bringing successful corporations down, or providing necessary drugs to people who need them at an affordable rate? In other words, when your hatred of capitalism and proclaimed love of the little guy come in to conflict, which motive wins out?
Wal-Mart is a very successful and philanthropic business. My only complaint is that their fresh beef is injected to extend life of it. As for unions, really now, what have unions done for you and for the cost of goods in the last 30 years?

I break out just going near a Wal-Mart but I thought better of them when I heard this today, I hope this will cause a lot of other companies to sell medicines more affordably. There is NO excuse for citizens of the freest richest country to not get the medicine they need. I couldn't get ones I've needed before and I'm not even living in poverty. Our "healthcare" here, the fact that educated elected people can't figure out that Health is part of national security, is a Shame. Shame.

What unions done in the last 30 years, well protected workers rights, health and safety and gotten a decent wage. You dont believe anti-union companies like Wal-Mart care about the poor do you. OK, fine they will sell cheap medicine, still doesnt excuse their treatment of their workers. They are doing it solely for a profit, any philanthropy is just so much PR.

As of yesterday, I am now boycotting Wal-Mart. For the last 15 minutes that I was in there last night, the announcements on the overhead speakers were in non-stop Spanish. I finally couldn't take it any longer, so I stopped shopping, paid for what I had and then summoned a manager. The Mexican manager seemed to be quite amused by the fact that I has having a problem with having to listen Spanish. First thing this morning I called and talked to the General Manager and he said that the commercials on the loud speaker were from the McDonalds located inside the Wal-Mart. I'm already boycotting McDonald's because they advertise in Spanish and hire illegal immigrants. Now I can add Wal-Mart to my Shit-List!
So no answer? Come on, which is more important: hatred of the wealth or love of the poor?
If you really 'loved the poor' Herzog you would fight tooth and nail to raise them from poverty not condone the practices of Wal-Mart who are the epitome of shoddy business practice.
Wow, I agree with Herzog! Is it all the cheap drugs I'm popping or was that a flying pig?
